How to Book an Appointment
What should I prepare before my appointment?
To consult with Dr William Chik, you must obtain an up-to-date referral from your General Practitioner or another physician. This is mandated by the Federal Government to ensure you can access your Medicare benefits. Keep in mind that without a current referral letter, Medicare will not cover any costs associated with your appointment with the specialist.
If your referral is outdated, you can still see the specialist, but Medicare may not reimburse you. For first-time visits, new issues, or if it’s been a year since your last appointment, specialists usually apply a higher "new consultation" fee with a larger Medicare Rebate.
Essential Items to Bring for My Appointment:
- Current referral letter from your GP or specialist
- Medical test results (e.g., x-rays, blood work, scans)
Hospital discharge summary (if relevant) - Relevant health history documentation that may benefit the consultation
What will the cost be?
When you schedule your appointment, you will receive clear information regarding the costs associated with your consultation and any necessary tests.
Do I have to pay on the day of consultation?
We kindly request that you settle your account in full on the day of your consultation.
A receipt will be generated for you, allowing you to claim eligible services from Medicare. If you’re registered with Medicare, we can conveniently submit the claim electronically for you. Please note that the reimbursement amount from Medicare can differ.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we gladly accept credit cards, except for AMEX, and we also offer EFTPOS facilities to cater to your payment needs.
